After 12 days in the bush we would come to "The Hill" for 4 days of bunker security, showers, hot chow, and some down time. "The Hill" was LZ Debbie until April, 1971 when Debbie was closed. Then we were on San Juan Hill, above the clouds and only accessible by helicopter. The pictures on the following pages show life on "The Hill". We eventually 'renovated' San Juan Hill and turned it over to the ARVN (Army of the Republic of Vietnam). We spent a lot of time learning how to use our new 35mm cameras under the leadership of Dale Hill and Lonnie Johnson.
